The Scheduler will be responsible for managing the workflow and resource allocation of tax return projects across our multi-office and hybrid workforce. This includes working directly with tax partners, managers, and staff to understand project requirements, coordinate assignments, and ensure efficient and timely execution. You will be the operational linchpin ensuring that projects don’t fall through the cracks.
Manage the lifecycle of tax return engagements from scheduling and assignment to tracking progress and final delivery.
Assign work to in-office and remote preparers and reviewers, optimizing for availability, skillset, and deadlines.
Continuously track engagement status, identify bottlenecks, and flag projects at risk of delays, overruns, or budget issues.
Act as the central liaison between schedulers, tax staff, and partners to clarify project scopes, timelines, and expectations.
Proactively identify and resolve workflow inefficiencies, reassignment needs, or priority conflicts.
Provide weekly status reports and metrics to practice leaders and operations team on project volume, completion timelines, and resource utilization.
