wireline operations manager

Candidate is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the FTTH and PRI network infrastructure. This role ensures high availability, reliability, and performance of FTTH/PRI services for end-users

This role ensures seamless voice connectivity, troubleshooting, and optimization of PRI services for enterprise customers or internal business units.

Role & responsibilities

• Network Operations & Maintenance:

• Monitor FTTH/PRI network performance and ensure uptime.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fiber infrastructure.
• Monitor PRI circuit performance and ensure uptime

• Fault Management:

• Diagnose and resolve fiber-related issues, including outages and degradation.
• Coordinate with field teams for timely restoration.
• Diagnose and resolve PRI-related issues such as call drops, signaling errors, and connectivity failures.
• Work with vendors and carriers to resolve escalated issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of PRI configurations, changes, and incidents.
• Generate performance and utilization reports for management review.
• Maintain accurate records of fiber routes, splicing details, and network diagrams.
• Prepare daily/weekly reports on network health and incidents.

• Acceptance Test:

• Validate and test fiber links and ONT/OLT configurations.

• Vendor & Team Coordination:

• Liaise with vendors for equipment support and upgrades.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for network expansion projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or related field.
• 5–6 years of experience in FTTH operations or fiber network management.
• Experience with PBX systems (Avaya, Cisco, Panasonic, etc.) and telecom gateways.
• Strong knowledge of GPON/EPON technologies, OLT/ONT configuration.
• Familiarity with fiber splicing, OTDR testing, and power meter usage.
• Knowledge of SIP trunking and VoIP as complementary technologies.
• Proficiency in network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Certifications:

• CCNA or equivalent networking certification.
• Fiber Optic Technician certification.
