Job Description

Role Overview

Sourcing Associate - Maintenance & Spares

Key Responsibilities

Source, negotiate, and procure
mechanical, electrical, and utility spares
required for daily and preventive maintenance.
Build and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
Ensure
timely availability of spares
to avoid breakdowns or production downtime.
Raise
purchase orders (POs)
, track deliveries, and coordinate
GRN/invoicing
with accounts.
Monitor stock levels and maintain
minimum inventory of critical spares
using ERP/SAP.
Conduct
market research
for benchmarking prices, lead time, and quality.
Drive cost control initiatives via
value engineering
, alternate sourcing, and long-term vendor agreements.
Collaborate closely with
maintenance, production, and accounts
teams for smooth operations.
Ensure compliance with
quality standards
and internal procurement policies.

Technical & Functional Requirements

Experience in procurement or sourcing of
factory MRO
(Maintenance, Repair & Operations) items.
Working knowledge of
mechanical and electrical components
(motors, bearings, pneumatic fittings, etc.).
Ability to understand
machines at component level
and assess
component life
in terms of output or time.
Familiarity with
SAP stock creation
and ERP systems.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Basic understanding of
commercial terms
(taxes, payment terms, logistics).
Excellent coordination, follow-up, and documentation skills.
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field (Diploma holders with relevant experience may be considered).
