Wakefit | Hiring For Sourcing Associate - Factory Maintenance & Spares

Role Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement & Sourcing Associate to manage the end-to-end procurement of spare parts, consumables, and maintenance services for our factory operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in industrial sourcing, vendor development, and cost optimization in a manufacturing or plant environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source, negotiate, and procure mechanical, electrical, and utility spares required for daily and preventive maintenance.
• Build and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
• Ensure timely availability of spares to prevent breakdowns or production downtime.
• Raise purchase orders (POs), track deliveries, and manage GRN/invoicing coordination.
• Monitor stock levels and maintain minimum inventory of critical spares using ERP or internal tools.
• Conduct market research and benchmarking for pricing, lead time, and quality.
• Support cost control initiatives through value engineering, alternate sourcing, and long-term vendor agreements.
• Coordinate with maintenance, production, and accounts teams for seamless workflow.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and internal procurement processes.
  

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of experience in procurement or sourcing of factory MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) items.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical components (motors, bearings, pneumatic fittings, etc.).
• Familiarity with ERP systems, GoogleSheets.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Basic understanding of commercial terms (taxes, payment terms, logistics).
• Excellent coordination and follow-up abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field (diploma holders with experience also considered).

Preferred Qualities:

• Experience in furniture, foam, mattress, or consumer durable manufacturing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, cost-conscious environment.
• Local language proficiency (if the factory operates in a regional zone).
