Our client is one of leading Investment abnking company so you will be playing a key role as a VP Senior Principal Quality Engineer (Algo Testing) who can assist with the below:

Roles & Responsiblities

Technical Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience in

  Java or Python

  (mandatory);

  C++

  exposure is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in

  automation scripting and framework development

  (Java-based in-house automation framework).
• Working knowledge of

  Jenkins

  for CI/CD pipeline creation and job management.
• Familiarity with

  GitLab

  ,

  Git

  , and version control workflows.
• Experience with

  REST API testing

  ,

  database validation (JDBC/ODBC)

  , and

  SQL queries

  .
• Ability to perform

  log analysis

  and integrate with automation frameworks.
• Exposure to

  Grafana

  and

  Prometheus

  for monitoring and reporting (good-to-have, not mandatory).
• Strong understanding of

  OOPs concepts

  and ability to switch between technologies if required.
• Not a DevOps role, but candidate should be capable of working within a CI/CD environment.

Functional Expertise:

• Deep understanding of the

  algorithmic trading ecosystem

  and its dependencies.
• Knowledge of

  static and market data feeds

  (Bloomberg, Reuters) and their role in algo systems.
• Understanding of

  historical and real-time market data

  ,

  data ingestion

  , and

  mock data creation

  for testing.
• Familiarity with the

  trade life cycle

  – order generation, state transitions (filled, partial fill, cancel, overfill).
• Awareness of

  FIX protocol

  – purpose and usage (tag-level details not required).
• Understanding of

  market data integration

  , volatility simulation, and dependency management in testing environments.
• Knowledge of

  Order Management Systems (OMS/EMS)

  and

  trading protocols (FIX, SWIFT)

  .
• Awareness of

  algo analytics

  , performance tracking, and reporting mechanisms.
• Ability to design test strategies aligned with trading behaviors and market conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Establish the Algo QA practice and automation framework in Powai.
• Design testing strategy for Algo Trading and related systems.
• Liaise closely with traders, quants, and global QA teams.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and frameworks.
• Handle production incident analysis and RCA.
• Build and manage a small QA team as the function scales.

Profile Expectation:

A seasoned QA professional (15–18 years) with strong programming depth, capital markets exposure, and leadership maturity. The person should be able to look at systems both technically (hands-on) and strategically (end-to-end process view). Must have the confidence to interact with senior stakeholders (ED/MD level) and the capability to set up processes independently.
