Job Description

• The role is to act as lead for Electronic Trading for Equities in India.
• The role will be responsible for:

1. The ET product rollout and upgrade across Equities and Listed Derivatives in order to allow increased scalability and agility of the platform.

2. Supervision of the India Electronic Trading business, ensuring that at any point on time, the trading activities and mandates remain compliant with local and international regulations.

• This role is non-client facing.

Responsibilities & Knowledge/Experience

• Candidates must have proven capabilities to establish and drive complex tech product buildout and have significant experience in the Equities and Listed Derivatives Electronic Trading space. India Low Touch experience is vital given the criticality of this business line to our overall strategy. Global Low Touch experience would be complimentary.

• Drive and encourage constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management in action and taking prompt action to address any activities and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC’s diversity policy and/or the best interests of the business and its customers

Management of Risk

• The jobholder will ensure the fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, both personally and as an organisation
• This will be achieved by consistently displaying the behaviours that form part of the HSBC Values and culture and adhering to HSBC risk policies and procedures, including notification and escalation of any concerns and taking required action in relation to points raised by audit and/or external regulators
• The jobholder is responsible for managing and mitigating operational and conduct risks in their day to day operations. In executing these responsibilities, the Group has adopted risk management and internal control structures referred to as the 'Three Lines of Defence'. The job holder should understand their position within Three Lines of Defence and operate within operational risk policy, escalating in a timely manner where they are unsure

Observation of Internal Controls

• The jobholder will adhere to, and be able to demonstrate adherence to, internal controls and will implement the Group compliance policy by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators

Conduct

• In executing these responsibilities, the job holder will be leading by example and embed a culture that demonstrates conduct values and behaviours in their day to day activities

Qualifications - Internal

Minimum Graduation or as required for the role, whichever is higher

• The jobholder will be able to demonstrate the certifications and qualifications required to exercise the job mandate has been obtained.

Eligibility Criteria

• India Bank / INM employees will be eligible to apply to this role after completion of 12 months in the current role/position at the time of application on level transfer and/or promotion.
• Entity Employees (not from India Bank) to be guided by their internal policy on tenure completion in current role at the time of application before applying and share line manager approval once shortlisted
• INM Employees in scope of WPB Career Progression Framework not eligible to apply to roles within the purview of the Framework.
