Position: Video Editor
Position Summary:
The Video Editor is responsible for converting raw footage into polished, high-quality video content that effectively represents the company’s brand and communication goals. The role involves collaborating with the marketing and creative teams to understand project requirements, develop visual concepts, and produce engaging videos for various digital platforms. The ideal candidate should be creative, detail-oriented, and technically skilled in editing, colour correction, audio enhancement, and motion graphics. Must also manage media files efficiently and deliver projects within deadlines to support the company’s marketing and audience engagement objectives.Overall, this position demands a combination of creativity, technical skills, and strategic thinking to produce impactful video content that enhances brand visibility, strengthens audience engagement, and supports the company’s marketing and communication goals.
Duties and responsibilities
A. Video Editing & Production
· Edit and assemble raw footage into clean, smooth, and engaging final videos.
· Trim segments, merge clips, insert transitions, audio, music, and visual effects.
· Perform advanced editing including colour grading, audio mixing, and motion adjustments.
· Enhance videos with appropriate graphics, titles, intros, outros, and subtitles.
· Ensure all videos meet quality standards and brand guidelines.
B. Content Creation
· Create short-form content (Reels, Shorts, Social Media Ads) and long-form content (interviews, tutorials, promotional videos, corporate videos).
· Repurpose existing content into different formats based on platform requirements.
· Assist in script ideation, storyboard development, and video concepts when required.
C. Collaboration & Coordination
· Work closely with the marketing, design, and content teams to understand project goals.
· Coordinate with photographers and videographers for smooth workflow.
. Provide creative suggestions to improve visual storytelling and user engagement.
D. Technical & File Management
· Manage and organise media files, project folders, and backups systematically.
· Maintain an archive of edited videos and raw footage. Operate and troubleshoot editing software and equipment.
E. Additional Responsibilities
· Handling basic video shoots, camera operation, and setup.
· Assisting in photo editing when required.
· Creating 2D animations or motion graphics for ads or explainers.
· Supporting social media team with content planning.
Requirements:
Technical Skills
· Expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, or similar tools.
· Knowledge of colour correction, audio enhancement, and visual effects.
· Basic understanding of motion graphics and animation (preferred).
· Familiarity with various video formats, resolutions, codecs, and export settings.
Creative Skills
· Strong sense of timing, visual storytelling, and pacing.
· Ability to create engaging and visually appealing content for multiple platforms.
· Understanding of latest video trends, reels trends, and digital aesthetics.
Soft Skills
· Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
· Strong attention to detail and quality.
· Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
· Team-oriented, with a proactive and problem-solving approach.
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Media Studies, Communication, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).
· Minimum 1–3 years of experience in professional video editing.
Working Conditions
· Office-based (as per company policy).
· May require flexible working hours during special events or urgent deadlines.
· Use of high-performance editing systems and software provided by the company.
