Vice President, Senior Backend Developer - Brokerage/Crypto

.In this role, you will lead the backend development efforts for a groundbreaking brokerage and crypto platform designed to bridge traditional and digital markets. You'll be responsible for building scalable, high-performance backend systems that power next-generation financial applications. Collaborating with a global team of engineers, product experts, and DevOps specialists, you will design and optimize secure, efficient architectures that support trading, payments, and digital asset services. Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems, APIs, and databases for high-volume web and mobile applications
- Lead the backend engineering team, promoting excellence in architecture, scalability, and security
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end, product, and DevOps, to deliver seamless features and services
- Architect cloud-based microservices and event-driven systems that meet the demands of fintech and crypto platforms
- Implement industry best practices for testing, performance optimization, and CI/CD processes
- Mentor developers, foster innovation, and encourage continuous learning within the engineering organization
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, blockchain infrastructure, and fintech trends to drive technical innovation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 7+ years of professional experience in backend development, including at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role
- Proven hands-on expertise in Node.js, Express, and TypeScript, with experience building REST APIs and services using frameworks like Nest.js
- Strong proficiency in SQL, with working knowledge of NoSQL databases
- Experience with microservices, event-based architectures, and message queuing technologies such as Kafka
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket) and API testing tools (Postman)
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code
- Bonus: prior experience in startups, brokerage platforms, or crypto/financial market products
