About the Role

The Vice President – Institutional Sales (Asia Pacific) is responsible for driving business development and client engagement across the institutional segment in the APAC & India region. The role involves building and strengthening relationships with key institutional clients such as asset managers, hedge funds, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, banks, and insurance companies. The position will involve pitching equity research ideas, conducting corporate & analyst roadshows and marketing investment banking transaction to institutional investors in APAC & India region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow institutional business across Asia Pacific markets.
  • Originate and manage relationships with institutional investors, ensuring long-term client partnerships.
  • Promote the firm’s research, investment products, and trading capabilities to institutional clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (research, operations, dealing, product, and compliance) to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory developments impacting institutional clients.
  • Achieve revenue and client acquisition targets while maintaining high standards of client servicing.

Qualifications

  • MBA/PGDM in Finance, Marketing, or Business Management (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (10–15 years) in Institutional Sales within capital markets, asset management, or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of equities, fixed income, derivatives, and investment products.
  • Deep understanding of institutional client segments (asset managers, hedge funds, pension funds, insurers, banks).
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting/exceeding sales and revenue targets.
  • Excellent relationship management, networking, and business development skills.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple Asia-Pacific & Indian markets.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience handling clients across

    multi-geography APAC & Indian markets

  • Exposure to

    cross-border sales, global client management, or multi-asset products

  • Strong analytical ability to understand market trends and client investment needs.
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments in Asia-Pacific markets.
