About the Role

VP Debt Syndication (Origination To Execution)


Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for monitoring and supervising all syndicated lending activities including initiation, sourcing, preparation, execution and distribution of syndicated financing transactions and thereby facilitating growth and expansion of the business.
  • To maximize return on portfolio through origination, standardization of structure, discipline of function and managing the supporting infrastructure.
  • To build detailed financial models, valuation and business plans for the projects for selling down select transaction originated and financed.
  • To undertake appraisal of projects involving financial, technical, economic & risk analysis and evaluation of proposals.
  • To ensure awareness of the market and structures, competitive offerings and offer products accordingly.
  • To enhance business association with banks, FIs, NBFCs & other Financial Intermediaries for syndicating sell down as well as originating financing products.
  • To develop association with bilateral and long term financing institutions for availing of long term finance lines and or takeout financing structure.
  • To establish and maintain relationships with Investment Banks, Commercial Banks, PE investors, Strategic Partners rating agencies, SMEs and other agencies etc.
  • To make representation to lenders and presentations on the projects, interacting with various banks, holding lenders meets for allocation and distribution of debt and execution of common documents.
  • To serve as primary liaison between Relationship Managers and syndicate banks in providing uniformity of information on all aspects of the loan and the collateral security.
  • To build and lead the syndication business by standardizing the function nationally, managing the infrastructure including agency services, market intelligence, research & portfolio risk management.
  • To perform comprehensive reviews of syndicated finance transactions, assign transaction ratings, make recommendations and present the proposals to the higher decision making authorities.
  • To ensure proper evaluation of creditworthiness of borrowers and review structural soundness and economic and financial feasibility of the transaction.
  • To maintain extensive co-ordination with lenders / bankers from the proposal filing stage till security creation including alignment of terms and conditions of sanction to facilitate common documentation, with credit rating agencies and with clients to ensure the entire deal is closed successfully.
  • To handle the entire gamut of pre and post sanction activities including project evaluation/appraisal, preparation of term sheets/legal documents and negotiation thereof with the clients, assistance in security creation until the loan disbursement stage.
  • To ensure the syndicated finance transactions are structured, processed, documented and executed satisfactorily to meet clients requirements.
  • To emphasize strict compliance with adherence to Risk, compliance and legal norms.
  • To ensure that the proposals being recommended carry all relevant information about the client and necessary mitigants are identified, where applicable.
  • To ensure compliance with the internal policies and procedures, regulatory standards and policies.
  • To support the risk and operations teams during internal audits, legal proceedings, process streamlining initiatives, etc.
  • To review the detailed MIS and share the same to the senior management on a periodic basis, with analysis of major points of consideration.
  • To motivate and identify top talent & formulate plans for recognizing fast trackers and building a strong second line of managers.
  • To ensure that the sales teams are well versed with all product offerings and that they undergo adequate behavioural/ functional trainings.


Qualifications

  • Educational qualification: Chartered Accountant / MBA Finance / CFA
  • Relevant work experience in yrs: 10-20 years
