About the Department:

The corporate finance department in the company handles all the financial and investment decisions. It primarily focuses on maximizing shareholder value through long-term and short-term financial planning and the implementation of various strategies. It aims to maximize the value of a business through the planning and execution of resources.

The Role & Responsibilities

The Vice President, Accounts Payable, and the payroll are responsible for managing and supervising all finance and accounts functions, ensuring the proper maintenance of accounting systems and the timely delivery of accounts payable and payroll services (domestic and international). These roles require strict adherence to deadlines, government legislation, internal policies, and established procedures. As senior leadership and operational roles respectively, both positions involve overseeing the accuracy and compliance of financial processes, leading teams, optimising payment and payroll operations, and collaborating closely with finance, procurement, operations, and senior stakeholders. Each role also participates in special projects to develop, improve, and maintain effective, efficient, and compliant practices, contributing to departmental goals and overall service delivery. The individuals must demonstrate strong adaptability to a continually evolving environment while effectively managing their teams.

Key Role Deliverables:

Efficiency & Operational Excellence

  • Lead end-to-end payroll operations across multiple countries, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Manage monthly and off-cycle payroll cycles with a focus on lean execution and minimal errors.
  • Maintain payroll calendars, reconciliation schedules, and compliance trackers across multiple countries and regions, including the UK, US, and Singapore.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery through standard monthly cycles and off-cycle payments as needed.

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement policies for accounts payable operations aligned with corporate finance objectives.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Operational Management

  • Oversee end-to-end accounts payable processes, including invoice verification, approvals, and disbursements.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, GST, and internal audit requirements.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and resolve escalated payment issues.
  • Collaborate with procurement and treasury teams for cash flow optimization.

Risk & Compliance

  • Monitor adherence to controls and company policies.
  • Lead internal audits and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Team Development

  • Manage and mentor a team of managers and analysts within the AP function.
  • Set performance goals and conduct regular reviews.

Reporting

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly AP reports for senior leadership.
  • Analyze trends and provide insights for budgeting and forecasting.

Efficiency & Operational Excellence

  • Lead end-to-end operations across multiple countries, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Manage weekly, monthly and yearly activities with a focus on lean execution and minimal errors.
  • Maintain calendars, reconciliation schedules, and compliance trackers across multiple countries and regions, including the UK, US, and Singapore.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery through standard monthly cycles and off-cycle payments as needed.

Automation & Innovation

  • Drive automation initiatives using ERP/Better platforms for invoice booking/payment, reporting, dashboards, filings, etc.
  • Drive automation initiatives using HCM platforms for payroll, benefits, and time tracking.
  • Evaluate and implement cutting-edge payroll technologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with IT and compliance teams to integrate secure, scalable payroll solutions.

Audit & Control Effectiveness

  • Own audit preparation and response for internal and external audits.
  • Design and implement robust internal controls to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain audit trails and ensure readiness for SOC, ISO, and statutory audits.

Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and maintain SOPs, process maps, and training guides.
  • Lead process reviews and Kaizen initiatives to identify and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement across operations.

Stakeholder Experience & Communication

  • Serve as the primary contact for accounts payable-related queries from employees, auditors, and consultants.
  • Ensure all communication materials are accurate, accessible, and user-friendly.
  • Collect and act on stakeholder feedback to improve transparency and satisfaction.

Prerequisites:

  • Proven track record in driving automation and digital transformation.
  • Experience in managing audits and implementing internal controls.
  • Passion for continuous learning and professional development.
  • Extremely strong fundamentals in accounting

  • Proactive and entrepreneurial traits; and a willingness to grow and learn on daily basis

Experience

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in accounts payable and multi-country payroll operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365) and AP automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of global payroll legislation, tax filings, and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
