Role Summary
The recruiter will own the end‑to‑end US hiring lifecycle, from understanding client requirements to sourcing, screening, negotiating, and closing candidates for IT and engineering roles. The role requires strong communication skills, solid understanding of US tax terms and work authorizations, and good technical screening ability.
Key Responsibilities
Manage full‑cycle recruitment for US IT / engineering positions (requirements intake, sourcing, screening, interviews, offer, onboarding).
Source candidates using job portals (Dice, Monster, LinkedIn), databases, social media, and references.
Screen candidates for technical fit, communication, experience, and cultural fit as per client needs.
Work with W2, C2C, and 1099 models; validate rate expectations, payroll structure, and employer details for C2C vendors.
Assess US work authorizations (USC, GC, H1B, H4 EAD, L2 EAD, TN etc.) and ensure compliance.
Schedule and coordinate interviews with clients and follow up for feedback.
Negotiate pay rates, finalize terms, and close candidates within defined turnaround times.
Maintain and update ATS/Excel trackers, ensuring accurate data for submittals, interviews, and closures.
Build and maintain strong candidate and vendor networks in IT and core engineering domains.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in US staffing as an IT / technical / engineering recruiter.
Strong knowledge of US tax terms and engagement types: W2, C2C, 1099, full‑time, C2H.
Good understanding of common IT skills (Java, .NET, Cloud, DevOps, Data, QA, etc.) and/or engineering domains (mechanical, electrical, civil, manufacturing, etc.) for effective screening.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for direct interaction with US candidates and, where needed, US clients.
Experience working on job portals such as Dice, Monster, CareerBuilder, Indeed, LinkedIn, and familiarity with ATS/CRM tools.
Ability to work in US shifts and manage multiple requirements with tight deadlines.
Strong negotiation, relationship‑building, and follow‑up skills.
Target‑oriented, self‑driven, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced staffing environment.
Preferred
Prior experience working with Wipro/TechM/Infosys environments.
Experience recruiting for both IT and core engineering roles for US geography.
