Job Description

As a Product Designer at RealPage, you play a crucial role in bridging the gap between landlords and renters by creating value through user-centered product design. Throughout the product development lifecycle, you will be the UX representative collaborating with a product manager and development lead. Your responsibilities include exploring the alignment between business and user goals, quantifying value creation, and facilitating unbiased feedback to enhance solutions. Your role involves championing curiosity while focusing on delivering actionable results within a defined scope for product releases. You will use personas and narratives to articulate problem statements and solutions, extract requirements from customer pain points, and conduct interviews with users, customers, and subject matter experts. Documenting knowledge, workflows, and pain points from these interviews, you will synthesize discovery findings for prioritization and scoping. Your expertise in user-centered design thinking will be pivotal in solving product and user challenges, documenting workflows and specifications for Engineering, and suggesting solutions within a defined scope. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will sequence releases, establish success metrics, develop pilot and readiness plans, and contribute to aligning design solutions with product management. Your role will also involve working closely with engineers and QA teams to communicate designed functionality and ensure quality control testing. Additionally, you will contribute to the evolution of design standards, participate in continuous discovery efforts, and establish success metrics for solution validation. To be successful in this role, you must have completed UX coursework, possess a portfolio showcasing problem-solving skills, have a minimum of 4 years of experience in UX or a related field, and demonstrate empathy for users. Your familiarity with agile practices, user-centered design thinking, and ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and executives will be essential. Interpersonal and facilitation skills, along with a detail-oriented and deadline-driven approach, are key requirements for this position. Preferred qualifications include a background in humanities, architecture, or psychology, experience with rapid prototyping tools, leadership skills, and a proactive attitude towards learning and growth. Furthermore, your ability to maintain customer relationships, collaborate effectively across time zones, and mentor junior designers will be beneficial in this role.
