We are a team at IISc, Bengaluru, dedicated to developing affordable and user-centric products for people with diabetes. Our focus lies in enhancing health management through thoughtful design and technology. We are currently working on digital interfaces of our product and are looking for a design intern to support the user experience development for our ongoing and upcoming projects.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented UI/UX Design Intern to join our multidisciplinary team. The intern will contribute to the design and development of intuitive, accessible, and engaging interfaces across various platforms such as mobile apps, web dashboards, and embedded medical devices. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in healthcare-focused product development within an academic research setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product designers, engineers, and researchers to understand user needs and translate them into functional interface designs.

• Develop user flows, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.

• Conduct user research, interviews, and usability tests to gather feedback and inform design decisions.

• Support the development of visual design systems and maintain consistency across platforms.

• Assist in creating user personas, journey maps, and interaction models.

• Work with the development team to ensure accurate implementation of UI/UX designs.

• Prepare and maintain documentation aligned with regulatory and product development requirements.

• Contribute ideas in brainstorming sessions and design critiques.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Visual Communication, Product Design, or a related field.

• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Suite, etc.

• Good understanding of design principles, including usability, accessibility, and responsive design.

• Strong visual and interaction design skills with attention to detail.

• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
