Role Overview: UI Designer

As a UI Designer at PurpleMerit, you will play a key role in our mission to redesign and enhance digital products by integrating AI technology. You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and fellow designers to deliver user-centric, visually compelling, and highly functional interfaces.

Your primary responsibility will be to transform existing websites into modern, AI-enabled platforms that are intuitive, engaging, and accessible. You will be involved in the complete design process—from ideation and wireframing to prototyping, visual design, and the organized handoff of assets to developers.

Key Responsibilities

• Redesign Existing Websites:

   Lead the transformation of current platforms by applying modern UI/UX principles and integrating AI-driven features to deliver best-in-class digital experiences.

• Wireframing & Prototyping:

   Develop detailed wireframes, interactive prototypes, and user flows to effectively communicate design concepts and user journeys.

• Visual Design:

   Create high-fidelity mockups and design assets using industry-standard tools, ensuring visually compelling and consistent interfaces.

• Responsive Design:

   Guarantee seamless user experiences across all devices and screen sizes through adaptive and responsive design practices.

• Project Organization:

   Manage design files, maintain thorough documentation, and implement version control for efficient collaboration and workflow management.

• Developer Handoff:

   Prepare and deliver organized design assets and clear specifications to developers, ensuring accurate and timely implementation.

• Collaboration:

   Work closely with cross-functional teams—including developers and product managers—to ensure design solutions are technically feasible and aligned with product objectives.

• Continuous Improvement:

   Iterate on designs based on user feedback, analytics, and team insights to achieve optimal usability and satisfaction.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Portfolio-Driven:

   No formal degree required—your design portfolio and demonstrated skills are the primary criteria for selection.

• Design Tools:

   Proficiency in Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar industry-standard tools.

• UI/UX Fundamentals:

   Strong understanding of wireframing, prototyping, user flows, and responsive design principles.

• Analytical Thinking:

   Ability to break down complex problems and propose clear, actionable solutions.

• Experience Design:

   Familiarity with modern experience design methodologies and best practices.

• Front-End Basics:

   Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is an advantage.

• Remote Collaboration:

   Comfortable working effectively in a remote, distributed team environment.

• Communication:

   Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to present and justify design decisions.

Things to Keep in Mind

• No laptop or physical assets will be provided by PurpleMerit;

  candidates must use their own systems.
• Fixed work hours:

  Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM – 6:30 PM IST.

• Freelancing or other external paid work

  during the internship is prohibited and may lead to termination.
• Strong remote communication skills and experience working in distributed teams are essential.
• Completion of the full 5-month internship is mandatory for consideration for full-time roles.

Salary Structure & Why It’s Unique

Internship (Mandatory)

• Duration:

   5 months

• Stipend:

   ₹7,000 month

• Conversion:

  Upon successful internship completion,

  full-time salary range of ₹3 LPA to ₹6 LPA

  will be offered based on performance, leadership, and technical skills demonstrated.

• Note:

  There is no direct full-time hiring; only internship-to-full-time conversion is available.
