Role Overview: We re looking for a UI Engineering Manager to lead our growing front-end team. You ll be responsible for overseeing the development of user interfaces that are visually stunning, highly functional, and designed to scale. This is a hands-on leadership role, where you ll work closely with designers, product managers, and developers to build a product that our users love to interact with. At a startup, we move fast, innovate quickly, and need someone who thrives in a dynamic, sometimes ambiguous environment. Responsibilities: Manage a growing team of talented UI engineers, providing hands-on guidance and mentoring. Foster a growth mindset, setting clear expectations, and providing feedback that encourages both technical and career growth. Balance design aesthetic with performance optimization to ensure a fast and seamless user experience. Work closely with the product and design teams to define the user experience and ensure features are built to meet both user needs and business goals. Set the technical direction for the front-end stack, contributing to key architecture and technical decisions. Keep up with the latest front-end technologies and practices, and implement them to improve the product. Promote a culture of high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code. Lead code reviews, testing, and CI/CD implementations. Work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivering high-impact features in a timely manner. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of professional experience in front-end development, with 2+ years in a leadership role. Expertise in modern front-end technologies like React, Angular, or Vue.js, and proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience working with design systems, UI component libraries, and creating responsive, cross-browser compatible web applications. Experience with Agile development processes and CI/CD pipelines. Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills. Able to motivate and manage a small team in a fast-moving environment. A passion for creating user-centered designs and experiences. Hands-on coding skills to jump into the codebase when needed, but also able to balance technical and managerial responsibilities. Ability to balance competing priorities and juggle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, startup environment. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle ambiguity and make decisions with limited information.
