UI Design Intern

At Yosemite Crew (www.yosemitecrew.com, GitHub), we're creating an open, modern, and compassionate Practice Management System (PMS) designed with and for pet businesses, pet owners, and developers. We’re not just building software - we’re building a community-powered platform that brings transparency, usability, and trust back into the tools vets rely on every day.

We’re looking for a UI Design Intern to work closely with our UI Designer and frontend team on web designs. You’ll help shape delightful, intuitive user experiences that make technology feel like a true partner for veterinary teams.

What You'll do

• Assist in designing and refining web layouts, mockups, and prototypes (Figma/Adobe XD).
• Collaborate with developers to ensure designs translate seamlessly into production.
• Contribute to design systems, style guides, and component libraries.
• Support user flow mapping, wireframes, and interaction patterns.
• Explore creative design solutions for AI-assisted interfaces and workflows.
• Participate in design critiques and brainstorming sessions with the team.
• Stay curious about UI/UX trends, accessibility, and design best practices.

What we're looking for

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Proficiency with Figma (preferred), Adobe XD, or Sketch.
• Basic understanding of UI/UX principles, responsive web design, and accessibility.
• Strong eye for detail, typography, spacing, and visual balance.
• Ability to iterate quickly, take feedback constructively, and work collaboratively.
• Enthusiasm for learning, experimentation, and contributing to a mission-led team.

Bonus points

• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, or React/Next.js.
• Experience in motion design or micro-interactions.
• A small portfolio of academic, personal, or freelance projects.
• Passion for open-source projects, startups, or pet/wellness industries.

Compensation & Perks

• Stipend: 8k INR per month
