Job Description

The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales and marketing performance across the assigned territory, with a strong focus on channel sales, distributor management, market expansion, and achieving business targets for the new product category. The role demands strategic planning, team leadership, and strong customer engagement within the agro industry.

Tasks & Activities

  • Maintain daily MIS reports and prepare weekly performance reports to track business activities.
  • Develop action plans and schedules to achieve assigned sales targets.
  • Work closely with the Area Sales Manager to create monthly sales plans and set daily, weekly, and monthly targets for the sales team.
  • Ensure timely collection of payments from customers and channel partners.
  • Handle channel sales, distributor sales, and PD sales activities effectively.
  • Drive market expansion by identifying new markets, territories, and growth opportunities.
  • Develop business opportunities with channel partners to improve reach, extraction, and market penetration.
  • Generate new business from both existing and new customers.
  • Take complete ownership of sales and revenue targets for the assigned territory.
  • Lead sales and marketing initiatives to drive volume growth and distribution targets for new product categories.

Knowledge, Experience & Capabilities

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience as a Sales Manager, preferably in the agro industry.
  • Strong experience in sales management and customer relationship management.
  • Proven ability in large customer handling and distributor/channel management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer-handling skills.
  • Strong financial acumen with focus on revenue, margins, and collections.
  • Strategic mindset to develop and execute channel growth plans.
  • Effective team leadership, people management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Customer-centric approach with a strong service orientation.
  • Sound knowledge of local language, regional markets, products, and customer behavior.
