Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
In the role of Territory Manager - Sales at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and market penetration of our farm mechanization solutions across Telangana - Hyderabad. Your key responsibilities include:
  • Generating high-quality enquiries and converting them efficiently for the Mahindra portfolio targeted at farmers with significant landholdings, ensuring alignment with their agricultural needs.
  • Providing consultative sales of advanced farm mechanization products tailored for various crop stages, helping farmers optimize productivity throughout the agricultural cycle.
  • Establishing and nurturing strategic partnerships aimed at enhancing farm productivity by delivering compelling proof of concepts, live demonstrations, and practical showcases of our products.
  • Identifying and exploring innovative revenue opportunities that support farmer success and expand market share.
  • Leading programs to upskill laborers and tractor operators in the effective and safe use of farm mechanization equipment, contributing to improved operational efficiency and equipment longevity.
  • Implementing bundled solution-based selling strategies to demonstrate the comprehensive advantages of Mahindra tractors combined with our range of implements, emphasizing product superiority and value.
  • Closely monitoring and analyzing market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activities to refine sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, product development, and service teams to enhance overall customer experience and satisfaction.
  • Championing Mahindra’s leadership competencies such as strategic foresight, customer delight, innovation, sustainability, and team development within your territory to foster a culture of excellence and inclusion.
This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work autonomously in a dynamic agricultural market environment.

The ideal candidate will possess educational qualifications that provide a solid foundation for understanding agricultural sciences, business management, or related fields. Qualifications include:
  • A bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline is essential.
  • Advanced certifications or diplomas in Farm Management, Agricultural Mechanization, or Sales & Marketing will be considered an advantage.
  • Continuous professional development courses that enhance understanding of the agribusiness sector, customer relationship management, and sales techniques are strongly preferred.
  • Training in leadership, strategic business orientation, and sustainability are valuable and support growth within Mahindra’s culture.

  • Demonstrated ability in lead generation, enquiry management, and conversion within agribusiness environments.
  • Direct experience working with farmers, agricultural laborers, and mechanization equipment to understand their challenges and needs.
  • Proficiency in using CRM tools, market research data, and financial reporting to inform decision-making and manage customer profitability.
  • Experience in developing and conducting training programs aimed at improving product application and laborer skills is beneficial.
  • Exposure to bundled product sales and the capability to communicate complex value propositions effectively to diverse stakeholders.
