Tech Lead - Python

We are hiring a Backend Lead (Python) who will architect and scale the backend systems powering millions of AI-generated ads. You will own API strategy, data pipelines, security, and platform performance. This role involves working closely with our AI/ML, frontend, growth and product teams. This is a high-ownership role for someone who can think like a system architect and ship like a senior engineer.

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale backend systems powering ads, media assets, and AI generation workflows.
• Evolve our platform to support multi-tenant, high-throughput API workloads.
• Design systems around asynchronous tasks, event streams, and distributed processing.
• Work with AI/ML teams to integrate LLM-based ad generation, image/video models, and prompt workflows.
• Build efficient pipelines for media processing, embeddings, vector storage, and creative versioning.
• Lead the backend engineering team with modern standards, reviews, and mentorship.
• Drive engineering velocity with strong CI/CD, code quality, and observability practices.
• Work with APIs of Meta/FB Ads, Google Ads, LinkedIn, TikTok and future ad channels.
• Ensure compliance, throttling strategy, API quota optimisation, and high delivery reliability.
• Ensure the backend meets data security, OAuth token management, secrets, and GDPR-like compliance.
• Own uptime, monitoring, logging, incident response, and postmortems.
  

Requirements

• Python Frameworks FastAPI (preferred), Django, Flask.
• Databases PostgreSQL / MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch or vector DBs.
• Async / Queues Celery / RQ / Kafka / RabbitMQ.
• Architecture Microservices, event-driven systems.
• DevOps and Cloud AWS / GCP, Docker, Kubernetes.
• API Design REST + GraphQL, OAuth, 3rd party API integrations.
• Testing and CI/CD pytest, automation pipelines.
• Worked with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, local models, etc. )
• Experience with image/video processing pipelines (FFmpeg, S3 presigned uploads).
• Knowledge of Ad APIs (Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn Marketing APIs).
• Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, pgvector).
• Event-based architecture with Kafka or Redis Streams.
