Job Description

About The Role

Detailed Product Knowledge of LV Switchgear products , its function and application. (e.g. Contactors, Relays, Starters, ACB, MCB, Fuses, RCDs, DBs & relevant products.)

Knowledge of IS & IEC standards for electrical switchgear & mechanical assemblies e.g. IEC 60947, IEC 60898.

Budget As a program manager, work with project managers to plan & monitor yearly budget of the department. Including local & global activities. Align this with management & different segments. Prepare inputs for years contracts (e.g. IDC, SLAs). Resource planning with demand.

Identify team composition, prepare development plan, align training & development of dept. members to meet the product development roadmap. Update & review competency matrix/radar chart.

New Product Development Guiding team in developing new products & also leading as project manager. Brainstorming and creating ideas for new products as per requirements from product management. Guide the team in making concept design, patent infringement review & new patent application, product simulations using finite element techniques, develop working prototype, conduct operational and type test, finalize design, estimate product cost and development time plan to facilitate decision on product delivery. (3D models, drawings, BOM, SAP, documentation)
Identify and implement measures for sustainability / environmental topics related to products. To know latest developments & requirements related to RED, EPD, Govt regulations & collaborate with team to implement in the new as well as existing products.
To explore new opportunities of products/improvements. Guide design developers to conceptualize the new ideas, make predictive simulations, build prototypes & evaluate performance to support business case & its viability.

Support the Product Group teams in Design to Cost, Continuous improvement of product design, Product Localization projects.
Support in lab upgradation/investment with Test Lab in-charge as necessary w.r.t. product roadmap.
Support in internal & external ISO audit. (Documentation, processes)
Support plant/dept on digitalization topics, including cybersecurity.

Team Management & Collaboration

of Project Managers & Product Design Developers.

Define roles and responsibilities, Set clear objectives for Dept e.g. KPIs & Team members. Communicate expectations, goals/targets and feedback to the group regularly and resolve any concerns or issues actively.

Ability to demonstrate resilience in demanding situations.

Provide timely feedback and encourage professional development of team & competency building as per product roadmap. Support team members professional development by providing opportunities for training and growth.

Adapt to make strategic decisions to ensure business success.

PRM (Product management), BD, Quality, Manufacturing, Customers, Suppliers etc

Germany, China, US etc.

Identify and address conflicts early, facilitating discussions and finding satisfactory solutions.

Must requirements

10-15 years experience of working in R&D of switchgear products with hands-on experience of new product development

Experience in development & qualification of L.V. switchgear products.

Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Sound knowledge of physics & FE simulations e.g. Structural, Electro-thermal, electro-magnetic, motion etc..

Trained in project management e.g. PMBOK Guide.

Candidate must have professional English written/verbal/interpersonal communication skills . ***
