Team Lead- QA (Manual)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Functional Tester to work on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) applications. The role demands deep understanding of trading workflows, clearing & settlement processes, market data, and regulatory compliance, along with proven expertise in designing and executing functional test cases for mission-critical exchange systems. The role also involves guiding junior testers, reviewing test deliverables, and ensuring quality across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze business requirements, system specifications, and trading workflows to derive effective test scenarios.


• Design, document, and execute functional and integration test cases for BSE applications.


• Perform end-to-end testing across order management, trade execution, risk management, clearing, and settlement modules.


• Validate market data feeds, auctions, trade lifecycle events, and settlement cycles (T+1/T+2).


• Ensure compliance with BSE regulations, SEBI guidelines, and exchange standards.


• Identify, document, and track defects; coordinate closely with developers and business analysts for resolution.


• Participate in UAT cycles with business teams and ensure smooth sign-offs.


• Provide clear test documentation, daily/weekly status reports, and defect metrics.


• Support regression testing during production releases and hotfix validations.


• Lead and mentor junior testers, review test cases, and ensure adherence to best practices.


• Assist the Test Manager in workload allocation, progress tracking, and stakeholder communication.


• Drive continuous improvement within the QA team by sharing domain and testing knowledge.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of hands-on functional testing experience in capital markets / stock exchange / trading systems.


• Strong knowledge of equity, derivatives, debt, and currency market workflows.


• Expertise in trade lifecycle testing (order initiation execution confirmation clearing & settlement).


• Familiarity with market data protocols (e.g., FIX, FAST, RTD) and exchange workflows.


• Strong skills in SQL for backend validation and data reconciliation.


• Prior experience testing exchange trading engines (BSE/NSE or equivalent).


• Experience in leading small QA teams, providing guidance, and reviewing deliverables.


• Ability to analyze defects, perform impact analysis, and work under tight release cycles.


• Excellent communication, stakeholder interaction, and documentation skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with risk management, circuit breakers, auctions, and surveillance systems in exchanges.


• Knowledge of Algo trading workflows and related validations.


• Exposure to regression suite optimization for functional testing.


• Domain certifications (NISM, CFA Foundation, ISTQB) preferred.

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or related discipline.
