Job Description

Job Title: Team Lead - Insurance Accounts Receivable (AR)

Department: Insurance AR

Location: Trichy

Shift: Night Shift (6 PM - 3.30 AM)


Key Responsibilities:-

Accounts Receivable Management

  • Monitor and manage insurance AR workflows, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding claims.
  • Review and analyze aging reports to identify trends and take corrective actions.
  • Ensure accurate posting and reconciliation of payments from insurance carriers.
  • Implement strategies to minimize denials and improve collection rates.

Team Supervision and Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and train a team of AR specialists to achieve team targets and maintain high performance standards.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies.

Insurance Follow-Up and Disputes

  • Oversee follow-up activities on unpaid or underpaid claims with insurance providers.
  • Resolve escalations related to claim rejections, denials, or discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the billing team to ensure clean claim submissions.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to enhance AR processes and reduce operational inefficiencies.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and implement automation tools for AR management.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and payer policies.

Reporting and Analytics

  • Prepare and present regular AR performance reports to senior management.
  • Analyze key metrics such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), denial rates, and collection effectiveness.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for improving cash flow and reducing bad debt.


QualificationsEducation:-

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in medical billing and coding (preferred).


Experience:-

  • 5+ years of experience in insurance AR, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes, billing systems, and denial management & RCM.


Skills and Competencies:-

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in AR management software and MS Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve goals.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
