Team Lead

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Team Lead to manage our Backend Procurement team in India. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in marine procurement, responsible for ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and timely sourcing of ship supplies and services to support our operations in the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Management:
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of backend procurement executives.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure team targets are met.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Marine Procurement Operations:
• Oversee the end-to-end procurement process for a wide range of marine products: technical stores (spares, lubricants), deck stores, engine stores, provisions, and bonded items.
• Source, negotiate, and place orders with suppliers globally, ensuring best price, quality, and delivery terms.
• Have a strong understanding of marine-specific requirements, certifications, and quality standards.
• Supplier & Vendor Management:
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers and vendors, particularly within the GCC, Indian and Asian markets.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing suppliers to ensure reliability and preferential treatment.
• Conduct regular vendor performance reviews.
• Coordination & Communication:
• Serve as the primary liaison between the India backend team and the front-end operations/sales teams in the Middle East.
• Ensure seamless communication and coordination for all procurement-related activities.
• Provide timely updates on order status, challenges, and resolutions.
• Process Improvement:
• Develop and implement efficient procurement strategies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Leverage procurement software and tools to streamline processes and improve accuracy.

Mandatory Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in procurement, specifically within the marine industry.
• Proven experience in a team lead or supervisory role, managing a procurement or operations team.
• In-depth knowledge of marine products (technical spares, stores, provisions) and the supplier landscape, especially in the middle east and India.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, or a related field.

Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹120,000.00 per month
