Key Responsibilities1. Tea Procurement & Sourcing
- Identify and source high-quality tea leaves from approved suppliers.
- Evaluate suppliers for quality, consistency, and pricing.
- Negotiate purchase terms to maintain cost efficiency.
. Tea Tasting & Blending
- Conduct daily tea tasting to assess quality, flavor profiles, and defects.
- Develop and approve blends as per market/client requirements.
- Maintain flavor consistency across batches.
. Quality Control
- Ensure all tea batches meet company and industry quality standards.
- Monitor moisture levels, leaf grades, aroma, and overall product quality.
- Coordinate with the QC team for regular inspections and lab testing.
. Production & Operations Management
- Plan and supervise tea processing, blending, and packaging operations.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Work closely with production teams to avoid delays and meet daily targets.
- 5. Inventory & Stock Management
- Oversee raw tea, blended tea, and packaging stock levels.
. Team Leadership
- Supervise tea tasters, blend operators, and warehouse staff.
- Train team members on tasting, grading, and quality maintenance.
- Monitor performance and ensure discipline in operations.
. Client Coordination & Reporting
- Understand customer requirements and share samples accordingly.
- Prepare daily/weekly reports on production, quality, and stock status.
- Coordinate with sales, procurement, and accounts teams.
. Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI, ISO, HACCP, and internal audit requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and traceability records.
- Track batch numbers, storage conditions, and FIFO utilization.
- Prevent wastage and control handling losses.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Food Technology, or related field (preferred).
- 10–15 years of experience in tea tasting, blending, or tea operations.
- Strong sensory evaluation skills.
- Knowledge of tea grades, regions, and market trends.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
