Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency) Exp Range - 6-9 yrs Hiring Location - Chn/Blr Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency) Must-Have Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and details-oriented Spunk Administrator to join our IT team. This is role is critical to the success of our newly implemented Splunk monitoring environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for onboarding the new applications into Splunk, ensuring log data is correctly ingested, indexed and visualized in alignment with operational and Security alignment. Key responsibilities: Work closely with application owners, developers, and infrastructure teams to understand the logging requirements. Implement log ingestion pipeline using defined FCB process. Develop and configure Data inputs, parsing field extractions and source types. Onboard application using universal forwarders, syslog or defined ingestion methods. Ensure compliance with data onboarding standards and naming conventions Update and maintain technical documentation related to onboarding procedures and data sources. Configure indexes, inputs, prop/transforms and needed for new data sources. Monitor data ingestion, health and troubleshoot onboarding issues. Collaborate with Splunk engineering team and security teams to optimize data usage and performance. Assist in building and deploying dashboards, alerts and reports to support operational visibility. Perform the regular health checks of the application and report any discrepancies. Required skills: Relevant experience in Splunk administration in a mid-to-large enterprise environment Strong knowledge of log formats , ingestion techniques and Splunk configuration files ( Inputs.conf, Props.conf, Tranforms.conf,etc..) Experience in onboarding application using forwarders, syslog. Scripting skills (Python, Powershell) Good understanding of Networking concepts and log sources such as firewall, operating system, middleware and cloud services. Ability to work independently and in a cross functional team environment. Excellent documentation, communication and troubleshooting skills. Show more Show less
