Job Description

System Administrator

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows/Linux).
Manage user accounts, permissions, access controls, and group policies.
Monitor system performance and ensure availability and reliability.
Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures.
Patch and update OS/software in accordance with security guidelines.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues proactively.
Administer firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection solutions.
Maintain documentation related to system configuration, procedures, and policies.
Support IT audits, compliance checks, and disaster recovery planning.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
[X–Y] years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.
Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu), Active Directory, and virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and basic networking concepts.
Experience with backup/recovery tools, monitoring tools, and patch management.
Solid understanding of security protocols and best practices.
Ability to script in PowerShell, Bash, or Python is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
