Purpose/Objective

Responsible for generating and providing assistance for validating all necessary technical inputs/documents related to Process Engineering and BOP systems for all projects like feasibility reports, carrying out calculations for project schemes, preparing tender documents and technical evaluation reports in order to meet project main objectives of cost , time and plant performance guarantees like power, capacity and equipment life.

Accountabilities Major Activities Key Performance Indicators CONCEPT FORMULATION –PROCESS ENGINEERING To assist senior team members in process engineering as and when required Assist the senior team member for mechanical engineering activities of Adani projects : A) Greenfield and Brownfield and up-gradation of existing plants B) Waste heat recovery system To assist following activities which forms the main basis for feasibility and project technical concepts: - Generate and validate mechanical design calculations like equipment sizes, power, etc, for firming up main project schemes. - Heat balance, Sizing, utility calculation - Firm up plant capacity & type, main equipment sizes, transportation and storage of raw materials and finished products - Prepare project flow sheets, material handling properties, mass flow diagrams which forms main basis for project designs/schemes - Conceptualize optimum mechanical schemes and type of equipment - Firm up project performance guarantees like power and environment - Prepare project specifications for all mechanical equipment and systems. - Estimate power consumption for project equipments - Firm up project environment schemes to meet the pollution norms and guarantees. To ensure adherence of standard design criteria and design safety manual in design of cement plant. To interact with plants and obtain feedback on performance of mechanical system/equipment for improvement in future projects To identify and provide assistance in evaluating various technical options of projects through total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis for approval which will have long term impact on plant performance. To create data bank for mechanical system and process equipments of executed projects and plants for future project references and decisions To prepare mechanical engineering calculation standards for future projects. Accuracy of equipment specifications Accuracy of performance guarantees Timeliness of completion of activities for feasibility of technical concepts TENDERING & TECHNICAL EVALUATION – PROCESS Prepare tender documents, technical evaluations & technical recommendations . To assist in preparation of tender packages consisting of process/mechanical specifications, scope of supply, services, performance guarantees, data sheets, standard design criteria etc. To bring in uniformity and standardization between all the running projects of ACC and ACL To follow environment safety, design safety and construction safety guidelines. To assist in preparing technical bid evaluation reports and technical ratings of vendors. To interact with suppliers for various technical clarifications and finalize equipments/systems of each supplier based on technical evaluation, performance feed backs from plants, etc to ensure plant system selected meets project objectives of power savings and long term competitiveness. To capture and assist in validating plant performance guarantees like capacity, environment pollution, noise, vibration, utility consumption ( water) etc To prepare power loading / TCO (total cost of ownership) which forms one of the basis for order finalization To identify equipments and contractors for short listing after tender evaluation of all projects. Timely completion of tender documents and technical evaluation reports Quality of tender and technical documents Clarity on technical scope and performance guarantees Adherence to safety standards and standard design criteria Quality of equipment and vendors selected for projects BASIC ENGINEERING FINALIZATION – PROCESS Ensure technical concepts/specifications/ guarantees are adhered by the suppliers (Greenfield and Brownfield and up-gradation of existing plants). To track if suppliers technical packages are as per order specifications To ensure that technical concepts are adopted in GA (general arrangement) drawings To check that electrical motors (kw) and instruments are as per project specifications Timeliness and quality of review TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR PROJECT EXECUTION PROCESS Provide mechanical engineering support during execution of projects To extend assistance to project execution team during Phase – II with respect to any project and mechanical concepts, plant design, engineering , equipment information of Phase I To assist during execution and commissioning stage of Phase-II in process operational philosophy, process control logics, pre-commissioning-checks, commissioning, and performance guarantee tests. Satisfactory resolution of issues Quality of support provided EVALUATE SUCCESS FACTORS AND AREAS OF IMPROVMENTS To study After Action Report prepared by project Manager and identify areas of improvement for future projects Best practices/ areas of improvement identified and followed STANDARDIZATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF DESIGN CRITERIA To ensure that the Adani guidelines for standardization are followed wherever possible based on the project requirement. To work out different designs to optimize mechanical schemes. Follow the standardization design criteria TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO RUNNING PLANT Provide technical advice to running plants on mechanical systems and performance as and when required To provide trouble shooting and specific technical assistance as and when need arises to the running plants. Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech) 1. This position is for the Associate Manager Role 2. Qualification : B Tech Chemical Engineering 3. Experience : Minimum 9 year in Cement or similar field ( Engineering/Design Experience is preferred)
