Job Purpose/ Summary

The Graduate Engineer Trainee – Mechanical Maintenance (Extrusion Press. supports the maintenance team in ensuring smooth, reliable, and safe operation of extrusion press machinery by assisting in preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities. The role aims to build technical competence in mechanical systems, improve equipment uptime, and support continuous improvement initiatives while learning plant processes, safety standards, and maintenance best practices.

The GET will learn and assist in preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities, contribute to improving equipment uptime, and develop technical and troubleshooting skills related to extrusion press machinery and auxiliary systems.

Principal Accountabilities

Assist in routine mechanical maintenance of extrusion presses and related equipmentbr Support breakdown maintenance under supervision to minimize downtimebr Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance schedules PMTPMbr Monitor press performance vibration levels lubrication systems and hydraulic parametersbr Report abnormalities and support root cause analysis RCAbr Assist in maintaining equipment health recordsbr Learn mechanical systems such as hydraulics pneumatics cooling systems and automation basicsbr Gain handson experience working with press components ram container die slide main cylinderbr Participate in training modules and onthejob learning sessionsbr Assist in preparing maintenance reports checklists and daily logsbr Maintain records of spares consumption and maintenance historybr Support documentation for ISO audits and safety compliancebr Follow all plant safety rules and permittowork proceduresbr Learn and apply lockouttagout LOTO practicesbr Ensure housekeeping and safety during all maintenance activitiesbr Identify minor improvements to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtimebr Support Kaizen 5S and TPM implementation in the maintenance areabr Suggest improvements in spare parts usage and maintenance practices
