### Job Description: Mechanical Supervisor for Solar Projects **Job Summary**: The Mechanical Supervisor for Solar Projects will oversee and manage the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of mechanical components for solar energy projects. This role ensures that all mechanical work is carried out to high safety and quality standards, adhering to project specifications and timelines. **Key Responsibilities**: 1. **Project Supervision**: Oversee the mechanical aspects of solar projects from installation to commissioning. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other supervisors to ensure smooth project execution. Monitor and manage subcontractors and laborers on-site. 2. **Quality Control**: Ensure all mechanical installations comply with technical specifications and safety standards. Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure quality and performance. Address any mechanical issues promptly to minimize delays and rework. 3. **Safety Management**: Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all team members. Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks. Investigate and report any accidents or incidents on site. 4. **Technical Support**: Provide technical guidance and support to the installation teams. Assist in resolving any technical problems that arise during project execution. Liaise with the design team to address any design-related issues. 5. **Documentation and Reporting**: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and progress made. Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the project manager. Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and on time. 6. **Resource Management**: Plan and allocate resources effectively to ensure project milestones are met. Manage inventory of mechanical materials and tools. Ensure equipment is maintained and in good working order. 7. **Client Interaction**: Communicate with clients to update them on project progress and address any concerns. Conduct site visits with clients as needed. **Qualifications**: **Education**: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. **Experience**: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical supervision, with at least 2 years in solar or renewable energy projects. **Certifications**: Relevant certifications in safety and project management are advantageous. **Technical Skills**: Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications. Knowledge of solar PV systems and mechanical components. Familiarity with relevant codes and standards. **Soft Skills**: Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail. **Other Requirements**: Willingness to work in varying weather conditions. Ability to travel to different project sites as required.
