Job Purpose/ Summary

The Manager of Pilger Seamless Tubes Production oversees the entire manufacturing process of stainless steel tubes, ensuring high-quality, efficient production in line with industry standards. This role involves managing the pilgering process, where metal billets are reduced in size and elongated to form seamless tubes.

Sub Section Head - Pilgar - Pipe Plant - Jhagadia - SteelSupervise the pilgering process, which involves reducing and elongating stainless steel billets into seamless tubes of varying dimensions. Ensure that production targets are met in terms of quantity, quality, and timelines. Monitor and control the production flow to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted manufacturing process.Manage and guide the production team, including machine operators, technicians, and other staff members. Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to staff to ensure a high level of competency and efficiency. Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork, motivation, and adherence to safety standards Ensure all products meet industry and customer-specific quality standards. Implement and maintain quality control measures at each stage of the pilgering process to prevent defects. Address any quality issues or deviations promptly and implement corrective actions as needed. Continuously assess and improve the pilgering process to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste. Implement lean manufacturing techniques and other process improvement strategies to improve throughput and reduce costs. Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, automation, and process reengineering. Oversee the maintenance and proper operation of pilgering machines and related equipment to minimize downtime and ensure consistent production quality. Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule routine checks, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities. Ensure all equipment is compliant with safety standards and regulations. Prepare and present regular production reports, including performance metrics, quality control statistics, and any operational challenges.

Oversee the Pilgering Process: Ensure that the pilgering process of transforming stainless steel billets into seamless tubes is efficient and produces high-quality resultsProduction Targets: Monitor and ensure that production goals (both quantity and quality. are consistently met within the allocated time framesOptimize Production Flow: Manage and optimize the flow of materials, machines, and manpower to maintain smooth operations with minimal downtimeMonitor Product Quality: Ensure that every stage of the pilgering process meets required quality standards, including dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and material strengthImplement Quality Checks: Establish and enforce quality control measures to inspect, test, and verify the product at different stages of productionCorrective Actions: Address any deviations from quality standards, implement corrective actions, and drive improvementsLead Production Team: Directly manage a team of machine operators, technicians, and other production personnel, ensuring they are well-trained and motivatedIdentify Areas for Improvement: Continuously evaluate the pilgering process and look for opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase throughputEnsure a Safe Work Environment: Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all staff follows safety procedures to prevent accidents and maintain a safe workplace.
