Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Store Manager to lead the daily operations of our women’s ethnicwear boutique. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in fashion/retail clothing and possess strong knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and ethnicwear styles. This role requires excellent people-management skills, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to drive sales while maintaining high standards of store presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Store Operations & Management

Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the store, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Maintain high standards of visual merchandising, store cleanliness, and product display.

Monitor inventory levels, stock replenishment, and coordinate with the inventory/warehouse team.

Handle billing, cash management, and daily sales reporting.

Customer Service

Ensure exceptional customer experience through personalized styling assistance.

Resolve customer queries and concerns promptly and professionally.

Build strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business.

Fabric & Product Knowledge

Provide expert guidance on fabric types, quality, drape, fall, and maintenance.

Educate staff on fabric characteristics, embroidery styles, and garment details.

Assist customers with product selection based on their preferences and stitching requirements.

Team Leadership

Lead, train, and motivate the sales team to achieve monthly targets.

Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Plan staff schedules and ensure adequate manpower during peak hours.

Sales & Target Achievement

Drive sales performance through effective upselling and cross-selling strategies.

Analyse daily/weekly sales data and implement action plans to meet targets.

Identify customer buying trends and suggest relevant product placements.

Coordination & Reporting

Coordinate with the online team, tailoring/stitching team, and management for smooth operations.

Prepare regular reports on sales, inventory status, customer feedback, and staff performance.

Provide suggestions to management on stock selection, trends, and customer preferences.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum 4 years of experience in retail clothing (women’s wear preferred).

Strong knowledge of fabrics (cotton, silk, georgette, chiffon, rayon, etc.) and ethnicwear styles.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer-handling skills.

Leadership ability with experience managing a retail team.

Strong understanding of sales techniques and retail operations.

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS/billing systems.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Kochi, Kerala: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
