Job Description

 Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of all medical, surgical, pharmaceutical, and general supplies. Monitor stock levels and initiate purchase requests to avoid shortages or overstocking. Conduct periodic physical verification of inventory.  Procurement & Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with the procurement department for timely ordering of required items. Liaise with vendors and suppliers for timely deliveries and resolve discrepancies in supply.  Store Operations: Supervise day-to-day store operations including receiving, inspecting, storing, and issuing materials. Ensure adherence to First-In-First-Out (FIFO) and/or First-Expiry-First-Out (FEFO) principles. Implement proper storage protocols to maintain item integrity, especially temperature-sensitive products.  Documentation & Compliance: Maintain updated records for stock movement, purchase orders, GRNs, invoices, etc. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory norms (e.g., NABH, ISO). Prepare and present periodic stock and audit reports to management.  Team Supervision: Supervise storekeepers and support staff. Assign duties and ensure timely execution of tasks.  Waste & Expiry Control: Monitor expiry dates of medicines and disposables. Ensure proper disposal of expired or unusable items as per hospital protocols.
