Sr QS Engineer

Job Summary:

The Senior QS Engineer is responsible for managing cost planning, contract administration, billing, budgeting, procurement support, and value engineering for construction projects. This role ensures cost-effectiveness and maximizes value while achieving the required standards and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates for civil, structural, finishing, and MEP works.
• Conduct rate analysis for various construction activities and materials.
• Evaluate, validate, and certify contractor/vendor bills and claims.
• Monitor budget vs actual costs and report variances with actionable insights.
• Support the procurement team with tendering, bid evaluations, and contract negotiations.
• Identify and evaluate variation/change orders and ensure proper documentation.
• Conduct cost control audits, assess risks, and propose corrective actions.
• Prepare and present monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and value engineering inputs.
• Maintain and update project documentation, contracts, and records.
• Liaise with architects, consultants, project managers, and site teams for cost-related matters.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and legal regulations related to contracts and billing.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, contracts (e.g., FIDIC), and legal standards
• Proficient in cost estimation software/tools, MS Excel, AutoCAD
• Excellent analytical, commercial, and negotiation skills
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong documentation, reporting, and presentation skills

Educational Qualification:

• B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
• Post-graduation or certification in Quantity Surveying / Contracts Management is a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
