Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Production & Operations Management
Plan, organize, and oversee daily production activities to achieve production targets, quality standards, and on-time delivery.
Ensure adherence to manufacturing SOPs, production schedules, and minimize downtime.
Optimize utilization of manpower, machinery, raw materials, and utilities.
Implement lean manufacturing practices, cost-saving initiatives, and productivity improvements.
2. Quality Assurance & Food Safety Compliance
Ensure strict compliance with FSSAI regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP, and internal food safety policies.
Establish and maintain quality control checkpoints during raw material receipt, processing, packaging, and dispatch.
Conduct periodic audits, hygiene checks, and ensure corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
Work closely with the QA/QC team to handle product complaints, recalls, or deviations.
3. Regulatory & Legal Compliance
Maintain and update all factory-related licenses, including FSSAI, Pollution Control Board, Fire & Safety, Factory License, Labour Laws, and other statutory compliances.
Prepare and maintain documentation required for inspections by government and regulatory bodies.
Ensure product labelling, packaging, and nutritional declarations comply with FSSAI and export market requirements.
4. Export Readiness & Certifications
Coordinate and obtain export-related certifications like ISO, HACCP, Halal, Kosher, BRC, and US FDA (wherever applicable).
Ensure production and packaging comply with international standards and specific importing country requirements.
Liaise with export documentation and logistics teams for smooth shipment processes.
5. Supply Chain & Inventory Control
Oversee procurement planning in coordination with Purchase & Supply Chain teams.
Monitor raw material (RM), packaging material (PM), WIP, and FG stock levels to avoid shortages or excess inventory.
Implement systems for FIFO/FEFO and effective warehouse management.
6. Team Leadership & People Management
Lead and manage production, quality, and operations teams with a focus on performance, safety, and skill development.
Conduct regular training sessions on GMP, hygiene, food safety, and operational excellence.
Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
7. Cost & Efficiency Management
Monitor and control production costs, wastage, and rejections.
Implement energy efficiency and resource optimization initiatives.
Prepare and review operations budgets and MIS reports for management.
8. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Ensure workplace safety, fire safety, and compliance with statutory norms.
Promote EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) awareness among factory staff.
Monitor waste management, effluent treatment, and eco-friendly initiatives.
9. Coordination with Management & Cross-Functions
Work closely with R&D for new product trials and scale-up.
