Job Title: Senior Manager – Sales & Operations

Location: Chennai

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Reports To: Managing Director (MD)

Salary: Rs.40,000 to Rs.50,000 per month

Experience Required: 7–10 years in sales & operations management, preferably in road transport or logistics.

Age Group Preferred: Male, 35–45 years

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Senior Manager – Sales & Operations to lead and manage our freight and logistics business, particularly in the FTL (Full Truck Load) road transport segment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of logistics operations, and a proven track record in sales management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead sales and operations for a large corporate in the FTL road transport sector.
• Manage and develop a team of 60 personnel.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective service delivery.
• Implement strategies for business growth and operational efficiency.
• Regular reporting to the MD.
• Marketing and Sales meeting with new and existing clients.
• Vendor development to source the most competitive cost for placement of trucks
• Administration of branches in his region / zone.
• Customer visits and ensure to answer all customer complaints and enquiries.
• Participate in E-bidding for Customer contracts
• Travel to branches for audit and control very month.
• Reporting to MD for any future opportunities.
• Should be fluent with English / Hindi and Local language if any.
• Should have a good track record
• Should be well versed with Excel / Word / emails.
• Submit quotes for new tenders and repeat tenders
• Do complete market surveys to find suitable vendors regularly.
• Full Truck load placements as per order received from customer
• Negotiate with brokers / truck owners and place trucks on time.
• Verify advance / balance payments of vendors
• Tracking of trucks and ensuring on time delivery.
• Proof Of delivery (POD) collection
• Proper control and co-ordination with customer.
• Should have good knowledge of Truck market for placement of over 400 trucks a month.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or related field. MBA is a plus.
• Experience: 7–10 years in sales and operations management
• Industry Knowledge: Hands-on experience in FTL (Full Truck Load) road transport operations is a plus
