Sr. Engineer - Cost out Electrical products

As an Electrical Cost Out Engineer at our company, your role will involve analyzing commercial and technical data of electrical components and assemblies. You will be responsible for generating, supporting, and executing various cost out and resiliency projects. Your tasks will include developing and executing category-wise strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Global procurement organization, product development teams, product line managing teams, global sourcing teams, and suppliers worldwide. Additionally, you will contribute to the improvement of engineering data for electrical components associated with LV and MV products, as well as assist in the development of data libraries. Key Responsibilities: - Analyze data to identify cost-saving opportunities through resourcing, negotiation, and VAVE - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and execute enterprise-level category strategies for supply chain resiliency and cost reduction - Create data banks for specified electrical products in coordination with contractual engineers - Engage in conceptual and theoretical activities related to electrical and mechanical engineering, physics, manufacturing, product design, and development for idea generation and execution - Partner with suppliers and global sourcing teams to execute projects - Collaborate with various teams like Should Costing, Sourcing, TCO, and plant buyers - Address technical queries and constraints from suppliers and internal customers, providing suitable solutions for process improvement and cost reduction - Work with product development teams and product line managers to identify cost-effective components from strategic suppliers for new product introductions - Visit vendors to ensure timely delivery and product quality - Mentor colleagues with less experience - Lead projects and initiatives independently or in partnerships Qualifications Required: - Bachelors/Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering - 6 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or 5 years of experience with a Master's degree Skills Required: - Hands-on experience in the design and development of electrical products and subsystems of LV/MV - Experience with cost out projects and exposure to supply chain management - Strong knowledge of electrical products such as motors, fans, switchgears, panel boards, etc. - Experience in electrical product design, development, and testing - Hands-on experience in supplier identification, selection, and development - Creation of cost out projects using engineering fundamentals, design basics, product knowledge, and data analytics - Experience in implementing cost-out (resourcing, VAVE) projects - Knowledge of various standards applicable to electrical products Additional Details: - Strong project and portfolio management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and lead effectively - Ability to work and interact with global cross-functional and cross-cultural teams - Good interpersonal, communication (oral and verbal), and presentation skills - Proficiency in data analytics - Strategic and conceptual thinking skills - Ability to influence without authority and demonstrate learning agility - Strong drive for results - Decision-making skills and the ability to solve moderate or complex problems in engineering, operations, project management, etc.,
