Sr. Data Scientist – Demand Forecasting

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist with expertise in demand forecasting and advanced analytics to support critical business functions such as inventory planning, staffing, and financial forecasting. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, experienced with scalable ML solutions, and effective at translating complex data into actionable insights for business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and fine-tune machine learning models for demand forecasting
• Collaborate with software engineers and cross-functional teams to deploy scalable forecasting solutions
• Extract and analyze large datasets using Python, SQL, and big data technologies
• Perform feature engineering, hyperparameter tuning, and implement multivariate time-series forecasting models
• Translate technical models and results into understandable insights to drive business decisions
• Design and maintain production-grade data pipelines
• Explore and integrate new data sources to enhance forecast accuracy

Basic Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related quantitative field
• 5+ years in data science or analytics roles with statistical modeling experience
• Proficient in Python, SQL, and tools like Hadoop/Hive or Scala
• Strong background in time-series forecasting and ML model deployment
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in supply chain or inventory management domains
• Knowledge of visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Experience with Azure and API development
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influence skills
