Key Accountabilities

Key Metrics



  • Manage the fixed asset register, ensuring timely and accurate recording of additions, retirements, and transfers.
  • Run monthly depreciation and reconcile GL with the asset sub-ledger.
  • Support audits through the preparation of reports and required documentation.
  • Prepare fixed asset reports for management and statutory purposes.
  • Reconcile CIP accounts and ensure timely capitalisation.
  • Ensure adherence to SOX and internal controls.
  • Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives.

  • Journal preparation and processing as per IHG policy
  • Fixed asset entries recorded accurately
  • On-time completion of activities
  • Running GL queries for research and clearance
  • SOX compliance score
  • Reconciliations – Accurate and Timely preparation

Required Education, Experience, Technical Skills and Knowledge

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Experience

  • 2+ years of progressive work-related experience in accounting and finance.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good understanding of accounting principles with the ability to apply them effectively within the organisation
  • Familiarity with accounting systems such as PeopleSoft and/or Essbase is preferred; proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Awareness of key policies and their impact on accounting processes

  • Flexible to work in multiple shifts as per requirement and in alignment with organizational policies.

Decision Making Responsibilities (Decision Rights)

  • Interpret and journalise requests
  • Support finance initiatives to streamline and improve day to day activities
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in the fixed asset register or between the GL and sub-ledger
  • Assess whether costs meet capitalization criteria based on accounting standards and company policy
  • Determine correct asset categorization, useful life, and depreciation methods for new assets
  • Suggest improvements or automation opportunities in the fixed asset accounting process
