The Senior Specialist Reconciliation & Settlement holds the key responsibility of spearheading reconciliation and settlement activities related to both bank and customer accounts on a regular basis. This role involves collaborating effectively with various stakeholders to ensure strict adherence to processes and prepare comprehensive status reports. Additionally, the role holder is tasked with overseeing the workload of team members to guarantee the timely completion of reconciliation and settlement for all assigned projects within defined timelines. Regular interaction with clients is essential to grasp their requirements and provide detailed reports to senior management for decision-making aligned with the overarching objectives of the bank. The core responsibilities of this role include ensuring the punctual completion of reconciliation for all assigned projects within specified timelines, governing the necessary supporting documentation for reconciliations, processing rectification entries, handling field queries, and guiding field personnel on reconciliation requirements. It is imperative for the incumbent to develop a profound understanding of related processes and the inter-dependability between teams, along with a broad comprehension of underlying data structures. Moreover, minimizing losses for the department and submitting items to be written off within each financial year are crucial aspects of this role. Regular interaction with clients, submission of necessary statements, reviewing and enhancing reconciliation processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), compliance with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines, and contributing to the implementation of operational permanent control policies and procedures are key facets of this role. The Senior Specialist is also expected to play a pivotal role in minimizing operational failure, including fraud risks, by implementing adequate regular controls. Collaborating with internal stakeholders, providing high-quality service to customers, preparing various management reports as required, recommending improvements to processes and policies, and staying updated with global market trends and competitor strategies are additional responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this position should possess a graduate or postgraduate degree, accompanied by 10 to 18 years of relevant experience in reconciliation and settlement operations.,
