Solar Project Engineer

Job Description

Lead system design of solar PV plants including layout, single-line diagrams, and component sizing. Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to assess project viability. Perform energy yield simulations using tools like PVSyst (optional). Develop and review detailed engineering drawings . Select appropriate system components , including modules, inverters, and BOS equipment. Prepare bill of materials (BOM) and support cost estimation and optimisation. Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEC, NEC, MNRE, BIS etc.). Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure technical alignment. Oversee site installation activities to ensure quality and schedule adherence. Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning phases. Review and approve shop drawings and method statements from contractors. Interact with clients and stakeholders for design approvals and updates. Support permitting and regulatory approvals, including interconnection agreements. Monitor the performance of the execution team. Troubleshoot performance issues and recommend corrective actions. Conduct system testing and commissioning as per project specifications. Maintain project documentation , including drawings, reports, and manuals. Train and mentor junior engineers/technicians and technical staff. Participate in technical evaluations for new technologies and innovations. Support execution teams with engineering solutions and performance analysis.
