As a Software Engineer specializing in Ruby on Rails, you will play a central role in designing and developing robust backend systems that power enterprise software and SaaS applications. You will work on high-impact projects, building scalable solutions while collaborating with designers, engineers, product managers, and founders. Accountabilities
In this role, your main responsibilities will include:
- Designing and building scalable, high-performance, and responsive web applications
- Taking end-to-end ownership of product features, from architecture to deployment and maintenance
- Translating requirements, designs, and wireframes into clean, high-quality code
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product development
- Mentoring junior engineers and reviewing their work for quality and efficiency
- Implementing best practices in coding, testing, and documentation to ensure maintainability and scalability
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should bring:
- At least 3 years of production experience with Ruby on Rails and modern web frameworks
- Proven experience in building scalable/distributed SaaS applications
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON handling, caching, sessions, and multi-threading
- Proficiency in database schema design with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB)
- Experience developing and integrating APIs (REST and GraphQL)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, software engineering best practices, and agile methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and a solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, and design patterns
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
Bonus points for experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, cloud-native development on AWS/GCP, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps practices.
