Software Engineer (Mobile) - Emergency Care

n late January we announced that Bridgefield Capital signed an agreement to acquire Philips’ Emergency Care business, which includes leading brands and products like HeartStart AEDs, Intrepid and DFM100 monitor defibrillators, Tempus monitor and Tempus ALS systems, and Corsium and ECI informatics solutions. We expect the transaction to close at the end of 2025. With Bridgefield’s support and building on our 40+ year legacy of growth and innovation in emergency medical technology, the Emergency Care business will continue passionately pursuing our mission of saving lives, lowering the cost of healthcare, and advancing the science of resuscitation while serving the public access AED, EMS, military, and hospital market segments.
Your Role
- Assists in writing clean, sustainable, and efficient code under the guidance of senior engineers, following coding standards and best practices, contributing to high-quality software.
- Supports in developing and executing unit tests to ensure the functionality and reliability of the code, identifying and fixing bugs during the development process, thus ensuring robust software performance.
- Maintains documentation for code, APIs, and software functionalities to facilitate knowledge sharing and future maintenance, enhancing team collaboration and project longevity.
- Works closely with cross-functional teams, including QA, design, and product management, to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions that meet user needs and business objectives.
- Participates in code reviews to learn from peer feedback, contributes to code quality improvements, and ensures adherence to coding standards, following guidance from senior developers.
- Troubleshoots and debugs software issues, using diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve problems efficiently, maintaining smooth and effective software operation.
- Assists in the implementation of new software features by understanding user requirements, participating in design discussions, and writing the necessary code, contributing to product evolution and improvement.
- Utilizes version control systems to manage code changes, track progress, and collaborate effectively with other team members, ensuring efficient and coordinated development processes.
- Engages in agile development processes, attending daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure smooth project execution and continuous improvement, promoting agile principles and team cohesion.
You're The Right Fit If
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 1 years of experience working as a Software engineer in mobile platforms
- Excellent designing, coding and debugging skills
- Hands-on mobile application architecture design and development in android and/or iOS platform using technologies like
- React Native - React native, React, TypeScript, JavaScript(must have)
- Android – Java, Kotlin, Gradle
- iOS – Objective C,Swift
- Database – SQLite, Realm
- Object oriented design
- Generic Database design skills
- Unit test frameworks like MS unit test or Nunit
- Experience with software design concepts, practices, modern development methodologies such as Clean Code and CI/CD pipelines on Git
- Agile development planning, story points estimation
- Collaboration and working in MS Teams and SharePoint
- Problem solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and understand current product
- Working with Cross geographical teams
- Mentor Junior engineers.
Following Experiences Are Nice To Have But Not Mandatory
- Medical devices and standards like FHIR/HL7 knowledge is a plus
- Highly regulated industry experience
- Agile and traditional frameworks for software development
- SAFE certification is a plus
How We Work Together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.This is a office-based role.
