Social Media and Newsletter Fractional Support

Startup Genome is looking for a Social Media and Newsletter Assistant to work with its content team. In this part-time, remote role, you will contribute towards content that reaches hundreds of thousands of policymakers and innovation agencies around the world. Your work will help shape the global conversation on startups ecosystems, with access to senior leadership and world-leading strategists. The ideal candidate for this role is curious, driven, and passionate about creating real-world impact.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Maintain a detailed social media calendar
• Identify the most valid and relevant information to share with our audiences
• Help craft and publish compelling posts about innovation and entrepreneurship
• Draft, refine, and send at least one monthly newsletter
• Regularly monitor metrics and insights to inform data-driven decisions and overall strategy
• Help maintain a distinctive brand voice
• Collaborate closely with a small team to ensure work is completed successfully and on time
• Work with our executive team to develop and deliver strong thought leadership across channels

REQUIREMENTS

• Native or advanced English proficiency in both written and spoken communications
• Prior experience drafting and managing social media posts and engagement across channels
• Solid grasp of social media channels and scheduling tools such as Buffer
• Prior experience building a pre-written newsletter using templatized integrated email platforms such as SendGrid
• Understanding of SEO best practices for social and newsletter copy
• Basic design skills using platforms such as Canva
• Experience translating data-driven insights into social media and newsletter strategy
• Ability to understand and adopt in-house style guide for communication cohesion
• Understanding of technology, startups, and business at a broad level
• Ability to manage workload and deadlines independently
• Openness to receiving constructive feedback and making appropriate revisions
