Position Overview

SMEP Engineer

Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing

Key Responsibilities

• Review and coordinate SMEP designs, drawings, and specifications for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies, load calculations, and technical evaluations for SMEP systems.
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of SMEP services into overall project execution.
• Oversee site installation, testing, and commissioning of SMEP works.
• Ensure adherence to building codes, safety standards, and statutory approvals.
• Monitor contractor performance, materials, and workmanship to maintain quality standards.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and documentation for project stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot SMEP issues on site and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Manage coordination meetings with consultants, vendors, and project teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Ensure energy efficiency and sustainability measures are incorporated into designs and execution.
  

Required Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
• Professional certifications in MEP services, project management, or BIM (preferred but not mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of local building codes, fire safety norms, and sustainability standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and relevant SMEP design software.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in SMEP coordination within the real estate or construction industry.
• Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver under tight deadlines.
