Primary Title: Thunderhead Smart Communications Developer
A specialist role in the Customer Communications Management (CCM) and Customer Experience technology sector serving finance, insurance, utilities, and telecom clients. The position focuses on designing, developing and supporting enterprise customer-facing communications using Thunderhead/SmartCOMM tools to deliver personalised, compliant, and channel-agnostic outputs.On-site position in India — candidates must be available to work from the designated client locations (strictly ON-SITE).Role & Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain SmartCOMM (Thunderhead) templates, fragments and output jobs to deliver personalized customer communications across PDF, HTML and print channels.
- Integrate SmartCOMM outputs with backend systems (Java/.NET services, databases, REST APIs), mapping business data to templates and troubleshooting data flows.
- Author and maintain XML/XSLT/XSL-FO transformations and ensure high-quality rendering, pagination and conditional logic for variable documents.
- Optimise batch and high-volume production runs—diagnose performance issues, tune jobs, and implement retry/monitoring strategies.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners and QA to translate requirements into maintainable templates and automated delivery workflows.
- Maintain version control, document design decisions, and support deployment/patching activities in production environments.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- 2–6 years hands-on experience implementing Thunderhead SmartCOMM (Composer/Designer) templates and output jobs in enterprise environments.
- Strong practical knowledge of XML, XSLT and XSL-FO for document transformation and formatting.
- Experience integrating CCM solutions with Java or .NET services, and working with SQL databases to map and validate data feeds.
- Proven troubleshooting skills for high-volume output generation, including performance tuning and error-handling in production batches.
Preferred
- Domain exposure to Banking, Insurance, Utilities or Telecom CCM projects and familiarity with compliance/archiving requirements.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD basics, and familiarity with monitoring/logging tools used in production support.
