Role Description We are seeking a highly skilled Shopify Developer with deep experience in custom Shopify development and third-party app integrations to join our Growth team. This role is critical to executing strategic growth initiatives, including Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), subscription innovation, site performance enhancements, and scalable e-commerce solutions. The ideal candidate will lead the development of high-converting custom landing pages, alternative product templates, and dynamic user flows tailored to campaigns and traffic sources. These templates often require custom logic for handling free gifts, upsells, and personalized offers. In addition to theme work, this role involves building and maintaining both custom apps—not only for Shopify but also to support integrations with external APIs. You’ll collaborate closely with the marketing, design, and product teams to ensure alignment with business objectives. You will also contribute to A/B test implementation, ongoing maintenance, QA, bug fixing, and performance optimization. A strong focus on mobile-first development, clean code practices, scalable architecture, and Git-based version control is essential. Our subscription infrastructure includes a hybrid setup using both Shopify's native subscriptions and Recharge, often within the same purchase flows. Required Skills and Qualifications ● Recognized Shopify expert with 8+ years of hands-on experience in Shopify plus theme, app development and extensions. ● Strong command of Shopify Liquid, including the ability to build highly custom, dynamic templates and flexible sections ● Proficient in Shopify APIs (Admin API, Storefront API), GraphQL and custom app development ● Experience integrating and building with third-party APIs. ● Hands-on development of both Shopify native subscriptions and Recharge-based subscriptions, including hybrid flow ( Shopify subscription and Recharge Subscription APIs). ● Solid understanding of Shopify Metafields/Metaobjects and structured data best practices ● Expertise in modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a mobile-first, performance-focused development mindset ● Comfortable using Git for collaboration in version-controlled environments ● Excellent debugging, QA, and performance optimization skills ● Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach in fast-paced, cross-functional teams Preferred Experience ● Proven experience in Shopify app development—both embedded and standalone apps ● Experience working with BigCommerce, Chargebee, or similar commerce platforms ● Familiarity with A/B testing tools and CRO best practices ● Experience using analytics platforms such as GA4, Hotjar, PostHog, or GTM ● Knowledge of WCAG accessibility guidelines and inclusive design principles ● Exposure to headless commerce architectures (e.g., Hydrogen, Next.js) or JAMstack implementations
