Job Context
Amelia Coal Mine is located in the Main basin of Singrauli Coalfield, Singrauli District of Madhya Pradesh (~37 km from Singrauli City). The block has been allotted to THDC India Limited, a Mini Ratna Public Sector Undertaking (Joint Venture of NTPC Limited and Government of Uttar Pradesh). THDC has appointed Amelia Coal Mining Limited as their MDO. In FY2023, ACML has begun Overburden Removal and Coal Production. State of Art Technology utilized in Amelia Coal Mine is combination of shovels and dumpers and Surface Miners. Amelia Coal Mine is currently in the ramp-up phase with Peak Rated Capacity (PRC) of 5.6 Million Tonnes Per Annum. Scope of the MDO includes Access to Site, Finance, deploy HEMM, Operate and Maintain Mine, excavate and deliver coal; Construction and Maintain of Coal Handling Plant (CHP), infrastructure including Conveyor (Mine to Railway Siding), Railway Siding, Approach and Access Roads; Arrange Power Supply, Undertake Land Acquisition, R&R, obtain possession of land, procure and renew EC, FC, licenses, permits, etc.Major Challenges
Some of the major challenges includes achieve and maintain peak coal production and overburden removal, ensure safe operation, maintain coal quality, shifting of Project PDFs, facilitate land acquisition, physical possession of land, implementation of R&R policy, construction, operation and maintenance of Coal Handling Plant (CHP), Coal Conveyor and Railway Siding, compliance with statutory norms, renewal/ amendment of statutory clearances, undertake progressive mine closure, facilitate smooth operation and comply with the requirements as per terms of contract with THDC, Contractors, Sub-Contractors, etc.Key Result Areas

KRA1 Production Efficiency Achieve daily and shift-wise coal production targets.Maximize equipment utilization (e.g., dumpers, shovels, excavators) and ensure minimal idle time.Ensure timely transportation and processing of extracted coal.KRA2 Safety and Compliance Zero tolerance for safety violations and ensure 100% adherence to health and safety standards.Regularly conduct safety drills and inspections to identify and mitigate risks.Ensure all workers use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).Immediate response and reporting of accidents or safety incidents.KRA3 Cost Control Monitor and manage the operational costs, including fuel, maintenance, and manpower.Minimize wastage and optimize resource allocation (manpower and equipment) to reduce operational costs.Maintain equipment in good working condition to avoid unnecessary repairs or downtime.KRA4 Equipment and Resource Management Ensure optimal utilization and regular maintenance of machinery and mining equipment.Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize breakdowns and ensure timely repairs.Ensure proper allocation and deployment of manpower for various mining activities.KRA5 Quality of Extraction Maintain the required quality of coal (grade, size) during the extraction process to meet customer or processing plant requirements.Ensure proper separation of waste material (overburden) from coal during mining operations.KRA6 Environmental and Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and minimize environmental impact, such as dust, noise, and water pollution.Properly manage overburden and waste disposal as per regulatory guidelines.Ensure adherence to all local and national mining laws and regulations.KRA7 Reporting and Documentation Maintain accurate records of shift activities, including production data, equipment status, and safety incidents.Submit regular reports to senior management regarding shift performance and any challenges faced.KRA8 Team Management and Coordination Lead, motivate, and coordinate the workforce to achieve desired productivity and safety outcomes.Resolve any on-ground conflicts or operational challenges effectively and ensure good communication between shifts.
