Job Title: Shift In-charge – Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I)Level: M-8

Job Purpose: Responsible for managing and leading all electrical and instrumentation (E&I) operations and maintenance activities in the Beneficiation Plant (BP). Ensure continuous plant operations by minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate the E&I team for smooth shift operations.
Execute and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical systems such as transformers, switchgear, motors, MCCs, and control panels.
Manage instrumentation maintenance including process control systems, PLCs, analyzers, sensors, and SCADA.
Develop and implement calibration, testing, and troubleshooting procedures for instrumentation systems.
Ensure zero unplanned breakdowns by proactive monitoring and swift issue resolution.
Manage spare parts, coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of electrical components and critical spares.
Troubleshoot robot peripheries, control systems, and PLC-related faults.
Supervise compliance with safety norms, statutory regulations, and company procedures.
Reduce mean time to repair (MTTR) and improve plant equipment reliability.
Prepare and maintain shift reports, maintenance logs, and documentation.
Collaborate with operation, service, and maintenance teams for seamless plant functioning.
Handle emergencies and critical situations by taking right decisions at the right time.
Key Challenges: Managing equipment breakdowns in a remote plant location.
Ensuring high machine uptime and quick turnaround during failures.
Optimizing resource availability despite constraints in remote mining areas.
Key Decision-Making Areas: Prioritizing maintenance tasks during emergencies.
Immediate troubleshooting and deployment of manpower during breakdowns.
Coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g., MDO, vendors) for maintenance solutions.
Cross-Functional Interactions: Internal: Service, Operations, Maintenance Teams.
External: MDO partners, OEM vendors, and stakeholders.
Financial & Team Dimensions: Manage the maintenance budget, spare part inventory, and contribute to CapEx planning.
Lead a team as per the organizational structure.
Skills & Qualifications: Essential: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation from a recognized institute.
Minimum 10 years of experience in Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance, preferably in mining, beneficiation, or process industries.
Technical Skills: Strong hands-on experience with PLC, SCADA, DCS, and automation systems.
Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems, control panels, MCCs, and switchgear.
Sound knowledge of process instrumentation and calibration techniques.
Familiarity with safety systems, grounding, and lightning protection.
