About the Role

Join us as a ServiceNow Developer specialized in platform modernization. You'll work on the front lines of technical debt elimination, converting chaos into clean, maintainable code for B2B SaaS companies.

Unlike traditional ServiceNow development, you'll spend your time refactoring, optimizing, and modernizing existing implementations. Your code will replace thousands of lines of technical debt with elegant, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Code Modernization

• Refactor complex customizations into clean, maintainable configurations
• Eliminate redundant scripts and consolidate duplicate functionality
• Convert client scripts to UI policies where appropriate
• Optimize business rules for performance and maintainability
• Implement ServiceNow best practices in existing codebases

Technical Implementation

• Develop solutions aligned with CSDM framework
• Create automated testing scripts for modernized components
• Build integration solutions using REST/SOAP APIs
• Implement workflow optimizations and process improvements
• Develop custom applications using ServiceNow best practices

Quality & Documentation

• Conduct code reviews and quality assessments
• Document technical implementations and architectural decisions
• Create knowledge transfer materials for client teams
• Develop reusable components and accelerators
• Maintain coding standards and governance compliance

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

• 3-5 years of ServiceNow development experience
• Strong JavaScript programming skills
• Experience with Glide API, Jelly, and Angular
• Knowledge of ServiceNow scripting best practices
• Understanding of ITSM, HRSD, or CSM modules
• Experience with REST/SOAP integrations

Modernization Skills

• Experience refactoring legacy code
• Understanding of performance optimization techniques
• Knowledge of ServiceNow upgrade impacts
• Ability to identify and eliminate technical debt
• Experience with configuration vs customization decisions

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
• Experience with ServiceNow Flow Designer and Integration Hub
• Knowledge of CSDM implementation
• Experience with automated testing frameworks
• Agile/Scrum methodology experience
